2023 Hottest Year on Record
As I listened to a news report this morning, I learned that this year was the hottest on record for over 150 years. 2024 is likely to be worse. The disasters associated with a warming planet include: fires, droughts, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes that are increasingly intense. We haven't done a great job of managing our world, and we need to improve on that or we will suffer the consequences. We must ask for God's forgiveness and ask for guidance and courage to change the direction.

Care for our world
L ORD, we recognize that you made human beings in your own image and likeness and gave us the responsibility to rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the tame animals, the wild animals, and even the small, crawling animals. You told us to fill the earth and be in charge. We are to rule over everything that moves on the earth. We have not taken this charge seriously. We have greedily used the resources of this world, and we have not cared for the life and welfare of this planet of ours.
Forgive us, LORD, for our selfishness and disobedience.
LORD, in your mercy, forgive.
