It's cancer!
Two weeks ago, I found out that a very dear friend has Stage 4 cancer. It is widespread. Other complications have prevented her starting on chemotherapy, and no one can tell whether she will tolerate the treatment. For someone who wasn't on ANY medication, this is a fast come-down. But how do we pray in such situations? I feel hopeless, and yet hopeful, as she is a Christian and has no fear of death. She just wants more time to be doing what she loves and does so very well. She is walking with the Shepherd.

Good Shepherd
L ORD, you are the good Shepherd; thank you for providing all that we need. Help those who are weary, tired, and in pain to rest in the lush meadows and beside the peaceful, quiet pools that you offer. May they catch their breath, renew their strength, and be guided in the right paths so that they may bring honor to your name.
Remind them that even when they walk through the darkest valley, they don’t need to be afraid, for you are always close beside them.
LORD, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
