Human Trafficking Awareness Month
January is Human Trafficking Awareness month, so I have included a prayer for healing. We need to "unblind" our eyes to this heinous problem. We must pray for those caught up in this practice, whether victims or perpetrators. Sometimes we think of prayer as a last resort when it should be our first. Prayer is powerful, and God is concerned about each person. Let us join with God to pray for rescue, healing and restoration.

Healing
O LORD, you are a God of compassion and mercy!
You are slow to become angry and full of unfailing love and faithfulness. You lavish your unfailing love on a thousand generations, forgiving iniquity, rebellion, and sin. We cry out to you today on behalf of all people who have been betrayed and deceived by wicked people.
For the wicked who traffic women and children to those who are twisted and caught up in sexual sin, we ask that you not excuse them, for they are guilty. Punish them for the harm they have done.
For those who have experienced such abuse, we ask that they may find you to be the great Healer who is able to bring wholeness into their broken lives. Rescue them, LORD, and bring them to a place of safety where they can find hope and restoration.
LORD, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
