Longterm Illness
I have been house-bound with various illnesses for the past two months. It has given me greater sympathy for others who are suffering and facing discouragement and loneliness. This has been a time for me to trust God in new ways and to experience God's loving presence. So, this is an appropriate prayer for those you know who are suffering. And God will do more than we would ever dare to ask or imagine.

God’s love
L ORD, we pray that Christ will be more and more at home in the hearts of those with serious illness and pain as they trust in you. May they be strong and grounded in your love for them, and may they have the strength, powered by the Holy Spirit, to comprehend how wide, long, high, and deep your love really is. May they experience the love of Christ as fully as possible in this life, even though it is so great they will never fully understand it. Then, fill them with the fullness of life and power that come only from you. By your mighty power, work within them to accomplish more than we or they would ever dare to ask or imagine.
LORD, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
