How should Christians disagree?
Decisions are made that we don't agree with. Those we choose as leaders sometimes make laws or decisions that make us angry. How do we respond? Do we send wrath-filled letters or emails? Do we forget God's command to show respect and obedience toward those in authority? We need to be gentle and show courtesy to everyone, even those with whom we disagree. In this way, we can set an example of good behavior that will honor God. We have choices. Let's make good ones.

Respect for our leaders
L ORD, remind all believers to place themselves under the government and its officers. We should be obedient, ready to help with every good thing they do, as long as we can do so without sinning. We must not slander anyone and must avoid quarreling. Instead, we should be gentle and show true courtesy to everyone.
Help us follow your lead on these teachings so that all who trust in God can concentrate on setting an example by doing the right things, because these teachings are good and helpful for us all.
LORD, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
