When God created the earth, the seventh 'day' was allocated for rest. The 10 commandments specify that we should keep one day holy by not doing any work. With the pressures of today, this becomes a difficult command to obey. The question is, do we trust God enough to stop working and enjoy the day of rest we were given?

Keeping the Sabbath
LORD, we confess
that we have not kept the Sabbath holy as you instructed us to do.
We have pursued our own interests and business, despite your giving us a day
to rest and enjoy times of worship
and communion with family and friends.
Forgive us for not honoring
you each week as we should.
Thank you for the promise
that if we follow your command in this regard, we will find you to be our delight.
LORD, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
