In a state of shock, Zax left the message blinking on his phone screen. He was bent over, clutching his knees, trying to breathe.
Zax couldn’t get the mental image of Flynn out of his mind, in the hospital bed with IVs hooked up to him, possibly fighting for his life. There was an intense fear like he had never felt before, that clutched his heart. He could not even get past the part which read that Flynn had been in an accident. Immediately, he felt his heartbeat elevate. As an elite athlete, this feeling of panic and anxiety was utterly alien to him. Unable to think straight, Zax just tried to stabilize his heart rate by taking deep cleansing breaths.
