Is it a struggle to get your kids to eat healthy, want to be active, and get outside for fresh air and exercise? Then introduce them to Eartha! Winner of a 2012 Moonbeam Bhildren's Book Award, "Eartha Gets Well" is a story about a little girl who never exercised, didn’t like vegetables, and was always sick. Eartha learns how to make herself, her family, and the Earth feel better! Throughout her adventure, she realizes that she can be healthy and happy by making a few simple changes. When she realizes how easy and fun it is, she wants to tell everybody!

Author Biography

Kristi Jacques Falk is the founder and executive director of The Wellness Council for South Carolina. Kristi, a resident near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is passionate about the positive effects “true wellness” has on the lives of children and adults in South Carolina. Diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at the age of twelve, Kristi has searched for a healthy path for her life. In 2000, she owned and operated Abundant Life Whole Foods Market in Conway, South Carolina, where her knowledge of healthy lifestyles expanded and was put to good use. After a couple of years, she realized that she needed to reach a larger audience and organized the Alternative Healthcare Expo, which later became The Wellness Expo of Myrtle Beach. In 2006, Kristi founded The Wellness Council for South Carolina with a goal of educating and improving the lives of citizens throughout the state.Her first children’s book, Eartha Gets Well, which she co-authored with her husband, puts the message of healthy choices and the impact we can have on the Earth into words and pictures that children can understand.
