"Ms. D?"
"Clive? Where the hell are you? I went to your brother's warehouse. If you're jackin' me around, I'm going to beat your ass when I find you."
"Ms. D? I can't." Clive was breathing really heavy like he'd been running. "Ah, shit! I gotta go. I'll holla back in a few."
What the hell was going on?
I continued driving to the address on the wrapper. Sirens caught my attention and I pulled over to the side. Two fire trucks sped past followed by an ambulance. When it was clear, I pulled back into traffic. As I drove closer to the building's location, I saw police barricades lining the street in front of me. An officer signaled for me to turn around. I did, but then pulled over, parked my Jeep, and got out to see what was going on. Flames spewed from the windows of a two-story red brick building. A crowd had begun to gather. I asked a woman next to me if she knew what happened.
"Si, it was awful. It was like some kind of explosion," she said.
"Was anybody in there?" I asked.
"Si," she nodded, "They brought two bodies out already. I think they're dead."
