Is it really a happy ending when you don't get charged with murder?
After years of living in the gilded cage of her marriage, Shelly finally finds her freedom in a divorce settlement that leaves her spectacularly rich. But her victory is short-lived. Just as she begins her new life, her ex-husband goes missing and all eyes turn to her.
The police have no solid evidence, and the media has no shortage of sensational headlines. When his body is discovered, despite the whirlwind of suspicion and an accusation that echoes everywhere she goes, Shelly is never officially charged. The court of public opinion, however, is far from convinced. Everyone wants to know if she's a cold-blooded killer who got away with it.
Now, with her new life shadowed by the old, Shelly must navigate a world that simultaneously envies her wealth and condemns her silence. As she rebuilds, the lines between her past and present blur. Someone out there knows the truth about a crime she may—or may not—have committed. She won the divorce, but can she survive the aftermath?

When-it-All-Changed
Our honeymoon? More than I could have dreamed of. He had planned everything… down to having our clothes packed. I had never been to Paris. We spent the week sightseeing, kissing, making love, and eating. It was glorious. We stayed at the Grand Hôtel du Palais Royal, a suite of course with an amazing view of the Eiffel Tower. He wanted me to have to the full first timer Parisian experience. We ate at the finest restaurants, visited all of the museums and grand palaces, and chateaus. We talked about our future life together. We discussed having children. How would we spoil them? Travel the world together and be the post card family. On every magazine cover. It all sounded amazing and so surreal. I was loving every minute of it all. But I was also nervous underneath. It was all too good. There had to be something I kept telling myself. But I also wondered why I couldn’t just let myself be happy. Then it was time to go home. Time to return to reality. But, what would my reality be, now? I wasn’t sure. Part of me was excited to find out.
