Looking east toward the city of Riyadh, Amy wasn’t sure what was more impressive, the herd of camels grazing in the desert or a backdrop of domed tops of the royal palaces.
“What are the camels eating?” All she could see was dirt and gravel, but something must be growing in what looked like desert to her.
“They eat small bushes, and clumps of grass if it rains. No plants live very long in the heat. Camels are smart at finding food, and live wild all over the desert, even in the sands of the Empty Quarter.”
