I spotted Jackson’s car almost immediately and parked two rows behind his. He’d been there at least two hours, according to the tracking software, but I had no way of knowing if he was planning on spending the night. I sure as hell wasn’t…I gave myself three hours, tops, of lurking at the bar.
Locking the car behind me, I let myself sink into the role I had to play tonight. I’m in town for business. No thanks, I’ve already started a tab. Yes, I’m married. No, I won’t fuck you upstairs on your corporate-card-paid king-sized bed. Businessmen on trips were entirely too predictable. I’d have to make friends with the bartender, though, they always provided a rescue from guys who couldn’t take the hint.
