Katie took a moment to think then burst out laughing, "Oh, good God, I almost forgot that. That was the night the big storm rolled in, and I couldn't find you and Tom, you were too busy making out to notice the cornfield was drenched and you were rolling around in the mud. I still remember your mama's face when you walked into the house with mud all over your clothes and in your hair."
Charlie laughed, "My mama was furious; she knew exactly what I was up to. That was the summer you wished for love, and you met Chris in the fall. I think you jumped in too soon, not that I blame you or anything. I just think. Love's still out there for you, and someday you will find it."
Katie grinned, "That would be nice to think this isn't all life offers love wise."
