Book Excerpt
Waves of Pink II: Common Ground, Uncommon Courage
Finishing active treatment is a strange feeling. On one hand, I was so relieved to be done and celebrated this accomplishment with my friends and family. On the other hand, it was like being adrift on a raft. I was just going where the current took me. I missed the comfort and security of going to the cancer center. I know it sounds strange, but during that time I was an active fighter. Now, I just have to wait and see, and I don’t do wait-and-see very well. I needed to feel in control and actively fight any chance of recurrence.
