They say people will come into your life when you need them and that is just what happened. One day, during baseball practice, I saw a gal, younger than me, with a pretty pink ribbon chair. I eavesdropped on her conversation with another gal, who was about my age. Come to find out, they were both breast cancer survivors. I had found my people!
Needless to say, we became good friends. We swapped stories of treatment, losing hair, losing breasts, implants vs. lumpectomy. I was alive and God had sent me these two wonderful women. I was no longer alone on my journey, nor were they. And to think it happened on a ball field, where our boys all played together.
