Nona is a special character for me because she was inspired by my own grandmother, who I adored more than life itself.
This particular excerpt about Lys's birthday gift from Nona, describes my grandmother's original wedding band that I wear now. I was able to choose it after she passed away and reminds me of her daily.
I don't think there will ever be a day when I won't ever feel the pain of missing her in my life. She made me feel as though everything was possible because I was special. I don't know why she believed in me and loved me so much, but I'll never forget it.
Book Excerpt
I Run to You
Inside the box was a dainty silver ring with three small diamonds nestled into roses. I stared at it for a long moment. It was her wedding band—the one she married with over sixty years before. Simple, but breathtaking. I admired that ring all my life, twirling it around on her soft fingers when I was a little girl. I couldn’t believe that she was giving it to me.
