Synopsis

Author Biography

Women’s fiction writer, Jennifer Sivec, has always found an escape in books and beautiful stories. In writing, she has discovered refuge and sanctity her entire life, which quiets the chaos while giving her perspective and peace of mind. She finds inspiration in the balance of beauty and tragedy, which is something she has experienced personally. Jennifer was born in Seoul, Korea and then abandoned at a very young age. At the age of three, she was adopted and has lived in Ohio for most of her life. She is married to her best friend, Jeff, and together they share two incredible, funny boys. Jennifer is the author of The Eva Series and the standalone novel, I Run to You. Leaving Eva is her first complete work and was originally released in April of 2013. Losing Eva is the sequel and continuation of Eva's heartbreakingly beautiful story. Author Insight

My Nona

Nona is a special character for me because she was inspired by my own grandmother, who I adored more than life itself. This particular excerpt about Lys's birthday gift from Nona, describes my grandmother's original wedding band that I wear now. I was able to choose it after she passed away and reminds me of her daily. I don't think there will ever be a day when I won't ever feel the pain of missing her in my life. She made me feel as though everything was possible because I was special. I don't know why she believed in me and loved me so much, but I'll never forget it.

I Run to You

Inside the box was a dainty silver ring with three small diamonds nestled into roses. I stared at it for a long moment. It was her wedding band—the one she married with over sixty years before. Simple, but breathtaking. I admired that ring all my life, twirling it around on her soft fingers when I was a little girl. I couldn’t believe that she was giving it to me.
