Scott sat across from them, deep in silent, turbulent thought. Aren’t I causing enough problems just by being here? I probably shouldn’t disrupt them any further than I already have… But they’re going to be severely outnumbered. Shifting in his seat, he continued wrestling his conscience. I can’t just quietly sit here while these people, my friends, are slaughtered and/or enslaved. Looking into Brandon’s innocent face, still somewhat boyishly round, Scott came to a decision.
