I have an awkward question about wars, school shooters and office supplies.
The spectrum of evil slides from the really big stuff: conscious environmental degradation (“vital for the survival of our way of life”); pernicious capitalism (“major profit-taking today”); theocratic sacrifice (“protect tradition”); school shootings (“I showed ’em”); and so forth, all the way down through Congressional action/inaction (“The President was OUTRAGEOUS!”); Presidential actions (“I had to act!”); through state government (“pre-emptive laws”); to schoolyard bullying (“He looked at me funny”); and family squabbles, to crimes, slurs, and all sorts of petty wounds and attacks, not to mention impulse sales and an entire retail industry of consumer goods. All are primarily driven by one thing: APPARENT NECESSITY.
