"Well, it could have been worse. Gaul is not really that bad this time of year I hear."
"Yes," she replied, "but we are banished forever. You'll never reign as king again."
“I know--I was trying not to think of that. And my no-good nephew will no doubt take over my territory."

His guess was correct, for, at that very moment, Agrippa was making his move. As they watched them being led away, he said, "It's a pity, isn't it, Your Excellency? I mean, I remember a time when my uncle was a firm and wise ruler and supporter of Rome just as I am now."
Caligula sighed. "Yes, people do change."
"Well, Your Excellency, I am one who will not change. My loyalty to you and Rome is a constant. By the way, who will rule Galilee and Perea, now that my uncle is out of the way, so to speak?"
“I hadn’t really given it much thought. Would you like the positions?"
"Oh, Your Excellency, if you feel me worthy--"
"Absolutely. Say no more. Galilee and Perea are yours along with your other territories."
"Wonderful, Your Excellency. Now, Your Excellency, I think I have learned as much as I can from you, and I have learned that there is a ship departing tomorrow for Palestine. By your leave, I shall depart tomorrow for my new territory, stopping first in Beersheba to check on Blastus and the house. From there, I shall sail first to Galilee, I believe, and check how things are there."
"Of course, I shall miss you around here, but perhaps that is the best plan of action. You are free to leave in the morning."
"Thank you, Your Excellency. Thank you again for everything."
"Oh, you deserve it, King Agrippa. You deserve it indeed."
