synopsis

Synopsis

2025 scientists plan to time-travel to Eden to prevent the fall and thus put an end to all evil and disease in the world. But they can only travel 200 years, more or less, at a time.
Having gained the needed financial support from wealthy financier, Mark Lewis, the scientists manage to build the first time machine in which three of them take off on their imposing mission.

They visit six different historical time periods, including::
• The California Gold Rush of 1849
• Colonial Philadelphia of 1775
• The Renaissance
• Legendary Camelot
Each historical time period they visit points in some way to the true answer they are seeking. But they ignore the obvious and go on blindly with their mission.
At one point, they are pulled forward unexpectedly to their future where robots serve and are forced to fight in a senseless war (WWIII).

Author Biography

I, was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on June 8, 1943 to a Christian family and accepted Jesus at an early age. In Jr. High School, I became interested in writing and drama. I wrote poems, articles and a few short stories, and plays. In college, I won second prize in a contest with a Biblical short story, which now forms part of my first novel, “Of Such Is The Kingdom, A novel of the Christ and the Roman Empire,” published in 2003. In 2010, I wrote the sequel, “Of Such Is the Kingdom, Part III, Power and Persecution, A Novel of the early Church and the Roman Empire.” I also wrote a Sci-fi novel, “Impossible Journey, A Tale of Times and Truth” and a non-fiction book, “Principles of the Kingdom." I graduated from Clearwater Christian College in 1970 with a B.A. degree in Bible-Literature, and from Biblical School of Theology in 1974 with a M. Div. Ordained in November, 1974, I served as assistant pastor/Bible teacher in several churches. I also served in a foreign-student ministry, where I met my wife, Berenice Carett from Venezuela. In 2014 I wrote an American historical novel, called "The Christmas Victory."

Having now realized the true end and purpose of their mission, our friends naturally decide to try to return home. (This chapter will show a contrast of beliefs and life styles.) Unable to contact home base from where they were, they travel forward in time and return to Camelot, much to the surprise of the knights (I added this for humour effect). They try again to contact home base. This time they are successful and relate their desire to return home. Will the guys at home base accept their wishes? Will the mission still continue? "Look at that! They’re still here. We must have landed a few minutes, or seconds, after we took off. The marvels of time travel, eh?"

"I bet they’re really surprised now, or worse, completely baffled."

Our friends are referring, of course, to Mordrid’s knights, who had stood watching as the capsule had disappeared, and who now stand in the same spot, watching it appear again.

"Anyway, let’s get this thing over with, shall we?" Kerry walks over to the communicator and turns it on. There is a whirling sound and then, the voice of Mark Lewis is heard loud and clear. "Hey, what happened? We’ve been expectant to hear from you guys."

"We tried to call, but the communication was garbled. I guess we were too far away."

"But it sounds great now. What happened? Where’d you get to?"

"We got to 33 A.D."

"Say, that’s pretty good. But, we’ve refigured the calculations again, and the next jump should be your last."

"I--I’m afraid, Mark," says Walt, with a lump in his throat, "we’ve already made our last jump back."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean we’re not going to complete the mission. It’s impossible. We just came forward as far as Camelot in order to communicate with you and tell you our decision."

"What?! Have you fellows gone mad? After you’ve gotten this far, why should you want to give up now?"

"Because we’ve discovered the only real thing that can ever change the world; because we’ve come to realize that it’s impossible to eliminate sin from the world, and we’ve discovered that the only answer to the sin problem is Jesus Christ."

"Jesus Christ? Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ?!....So, you went back to 33 A.D., and actually met the man personally?"

"Well we didn’t actually meet Him. We heard Him speak and we saw Him crucified, and I actually saw Him once after He'd been crucified and risen from the dead. But we did meet the apostle Peter, and he set us straight on a few things."

"But you can’t just give up now, after all of this time and money has been invested. What will the shareholders think?"
