Dating and Relationships
Women are saying chivalry has died out,
The crazy part is they’re right, it has in some ways.
Contributing reasons as to why this has happened,
Kids having kids these days, there’s no one teaching men anything.
I wouldn’t even know how chivalrous I really am,
Until I learned all that I needed to, to apply it myself.
Parents aren’t teaching their kids the right things,
But then again, parents aren’t even staying together to raise children.
So there’s backtracking many things and factors to chivalry dying out,
Doesn’t mean that there aren’t good men in the world who still do it.
This dating scene is really sad and I don’t know what to think of it,
But I guess it’s time as a struggling man in society to break it down.
To start, honesty is not even a word used in people’s vocabulary,
If we started there, we’d get somewhere with what works for us and what doesn’t.
Communication isn’t there either, we start talking with someone through text messages,
Everyone is so damn busy and engulfed with life that phone calls are non-existent.
No one wants to even know what a voice sounds like anymore,
Let’s just text and take our time in answering so we don’t look desperate.
Everyone follows this rulebook when it comes to dating,
What happened to common sense and knowing what works for you?
What happened to basic knowledge of what’s acceptable?
We run to the internet or our friends to ask for advice all of the time.
No one is really an “expert” at relationships when you think about it,
We are just studying human behavior and what stimulates our brains basically.
Everyone has thoughts and opinions on relationships and what works,
23
Friends have advice, family have history to tell you, let’s just stick to the basics.
Engulfed in looks, body type and not personalities,
We forget that the things we look for eventually fade.
Somehow we become fixated on a type of person we want,
Not willing to step outside of our comfort zones.
We just have to have that specific type of person no matter what,
Losing out on a chance at finding true love and end up lusting for others.
But let’s get back to the beginning stages of this whole process,
Let’s start off with trying to engage in conversation.
People seem to be entrenched in their technology all of the time,
We tend not to look up and see the world for what it is.
The people around us, embracing the ambience of social venues,
The coffee shops, libraries, museums, even a car wash.
Women are sexual objects and called bitches, hoes and sluts,
Gee I wonder where the hell we learn that from, oh society, the media.
