Nothing drastic happens, except the passage of time and distance. Slowly, the connection fizzles and burns out. Life goes on, just as she predicted. Anytime Harry passes 79^th Street, that corner she gets a warm, fuzzy, knee-jerk feeling inside. Primordial even, the most basic human instinct. She smiles. She can’t help it; it’s in the gut.
