Nothing drastic happens, except the passage of time and distance. Slowly, the connection fizzles and burns out. Life goes on, just as she predicted. Anytime Harry passes 79th Street, that corner she gets a warm, fuzzy, knee-jerk feeling inside. Primordial even, the most basic human instinct. She smiles. She can’t help it; it’s in the gut.
