We see this in our nation right now. It's Us/Them. We can't talk to each other. We see this in institutions and churches where there is no room for questioning the status quo.
This is not serving us. We need to move beyond level two faith and let God get bigger not smaller.

Tumbled People
It doesn’t matter when you start the spiritual growth process; the problem comes when adults get stuck in level-two thinking. It is understandable for children, and it’s awesome to watch them discover and make sense of their world. Black-and-white thinking, however, is not attractive in adults, and unfortunately, our world is suffering greatly from spiritual leaders who are stuck in stage-two faith. You may have seen the bumper sticker that reads “God said it, I believe it, that settles it.” While we can appreciate that person’s passion for fidelity to scripture, the bumper sticker is a stage-two statement. There is so much more to a living faith than the sentiment allows.
