Salvation and Healing Received the Same Way
Eph 2:8-9 (ESV): “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV): “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame. For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?”
Rom 10:17 (NKJV): “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Mom, you have heard Ephesians 2:8-9 many times over the years, that grace saves us through faith, not by any works that we could do. Further, when you accepted Christ, you did so by believing in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confessing it with your mouth. Romans 10:10 said the belief in Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection and your confession of that belief made you righteous or put you in right standing with God eternally.
How did you get the faith to believe that Christ died on the cross for our sins? You heard it. You heard it preached, or you may have read it in the Bible. The chances are that you have heard it repeatedly. It is one of the things that is preached in most Christian churches every Sunday at an altar call or close of the service. However, you heard it the faith to believe it came by hearing it and then believing it and confessing it. You are not in heaven now, but you have salvation just as undoubtedly as you have air. You know, that you know that you are saved, that you have salvation. Again, because you have heard the Word of God in that area over and over, and it built your faith.
What if you heard the Scriptures over and over how about how Jesus healed in the Bible? If you heard those words over and over, it would build your faith because faith for healing comes the same way faith for salvation comes. It comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. You have to hear scriptures on healing to build your faith to be healed.
Once you build your faith for healing, then by faith, you begin to believe in your heart that you receive healing, and you confess with your mouth that you receive healing. Just like believing salvation Scriptures leads to righteousness, believing healing Scriptures leads to healing. Just like confession is a demonstration of your faith that you received your salvation, confession is a demonstration of your faith that you received your healing.
But what if you don’t hear healing Scriptures in your church? Then you need to hear it somewhere else. Put on a CD, a television or internet broadcast, or read the Scriptures in this book out loud. Faith can come by hearing the Word of God when you read it aloud.
In the letters that follow, I will give you many, many Scriptures that you can read and say aloud to build your faith and receive your healing.
