Science without religion is lame; religion without Science is blind.
—A truism stated by Albert Einstein1
A childhood question we never quite found the answer to in the playground, in school, or at home was “Who am I?” Later it likely became lost in the noise of life without ever being answered fully. Nowadays, with numbers of fine Scientists and leaders in industry and technology becoming increasingly alarmed by developments in artificial intelligence (AI), the question starts to puzzle and challenge us again, “Who really am I? How fundamentally superior am I to a sophisticated robot?” Robots can already invent their own private language and share information with other robots. They express awareness, logic, feelings, and independence.
It may shock us, but Science does not actually know the answer to man’s superiority, nor to the essence of Time, Consciousness, Energy or Love, vital though these are to our existence. Check them out on the internet “what is Energy really?” and so on. For example — we know a huge amount how one form of energy converts into another, and how to measure it, how it travels and other characteristics, but what it truly is eludes us. The same is true for Consciousness and Time. In addition, we experience and value Love without being able to pinpoint it either. Our Universe runs with elegant Physics and Chemistry laws, but mankind is ignorant of their origin. We are babes in the woods of existence, whatever existence is.
Conceptually, humanity is in trouble. Can these mysteries be solved in time for us to face some of our greatest challenges ever that loom ahead?
This book can and should help.
However, projected developments in cyborgs, who are part person part machine, make us uncertain even as to what humankind is. Adam Clark Estes writes in Gizmodo Oct 2013:
“The dream of the cyborg is coming true at an exhilarating rate. As humans get better and better at making machines, we keep attaching those machines to our bodies to make ourselves better humans. It seems at times that the only question left is if we can put a human brain in a robotic frame. Actually, it’s not a matter of “if”. It’s a matter of when.”
Similarly, Elon Musk 2017 believes we have reached a crossroads in our evolutionary history—we either evolve with the machines we have created and become one with them, or we face extinction as a species. Could Elon be right?
Within these pages, I will attempt to explain why it is that our best and brightest Scientists and philosophers do not at present know what Time, Consciousness and so on are. My motivation for tackling these mysteries is to guide readers into a fresh and valid understanding of them, and to explain carefully why these answers have not been given previously.
This book searches out who we genuinely are—our origins, the purpose and significance of our lives on Earth today, and the destiny that lies ahead for us.
I will introduce God as the ultimate Consciousness who originally made (created) everything with a deep purpose, one which is worth our careful examination because it involves ourselves.
God’s creativity is a central theme that runs through the Bible from the first pages to the last: from the initial Genesis narrative to the stunning Revelation descriptions of an upcoming New Creation comprising New Heavens and a New Earth.
This is thereby a Creation-centred book, and I start where I began myself with questions regarding Creation and Evolution while at university studying Geology. It is the first question we have to resolve once and for all—are we simply the product of energy cooling into particles after the Big Bang and then slowly assembling under mysterious laws of Physics and Chemistry to become living cells, and ultimately people? This is a “bottom up” model of who we are and assumed by Evolutionists. One of a number of unresolved problems dogging it is where our consciousness would come from?
Or are we a “top down” product designed by an inventive consciousness of stupendous intelligence and power? If we are, then the problem of where our consciousness comes from disappears.
Or perhaps both processes are involved – Creation and Evolution?
In this book I present an entirely new “Theory of Creation” that resolves where you came from and why, and what your destiny is. Big call, I know, but providing you keep a thoughtful, open mind you will find it to be true.
Be prepared to change everything you thought you knew about Creation, Time and Evolution.
The truth is bigger and better than you previously believed. It is the doorway into discovering the meaning of Life, Time and Creation itself.
But beware—any new thinking even if scripturally sound may be easy to taste, but still be very hard to swallow, and we can automatically dismiss it without fair trial.
I am not saying God has not given similar perspectives to others, but I cannot find them written anywhere. Therefore, I have undertaken the daunting task of attempting to write and share them myself.
Once you have imbibed the essence of what I am presenting, you can expand on it, giving your own examples, perhaps in articles or books you write. In any case, please proclaim the fresh insights on social media.
I then move far beyond this fresh revelation that solves who we are and where we came from into probing the very nature of God—and dare to suggest how and why he does things, and what our destiny looks like.
Every book needs a hero. The hero of this book is God himself, and he is a superhero above all others, and an extraordinarily productive one until today!
And because there is only one God, then all elements of what exists, including the past, present and future, must somehow harmonise—as we discover they do.
The wonderful thing is that as original ancient scriptures are clarified, what Time really is emerges, and all the doctrinaire positions of Young Earth Creation, Old Earth Creation, Intelligent Design etc become feasible and perhaps even used by God during different stages of our present Universe’s development. Each is at best a partial solution, while this book presents the full Big Solution.
We will also probe God’s ongoing resourcefulness across a wide range that includes things he does innovatively on our planet to this day.
We will discover that God is surprisingly closer to aspects of ourselves than perhaps we had realised previously. There is a wonderful reason for this that emerges as we contemplate scripture and the extraordinary things he does.
Be prepared to be amazed – and thrilled.
How qualified am I to write this book about God and how he does things? I am not an expert in any of the areas I explore in the book you are about to read. It is different from most of my other 12 published books (see ivanrudolph.com), so I cannot claim much experience of writing in this field. However, I have an open and enquiring mind, and tenacity in research. The first of my university degrees majored in Geology and Chemistry, and I have continued my interest in these disciplines although a relative amateur in both. I have in addition closely investigated modern miracles, answered prayer, near death experiences (NDEs) and the fulfilment of divine prophecies. Each of these areas in which God is still actively involved on Earth has contributed to the startling revelations in these pages.
Our human nature and purpose in our world, and more especially our destiny, all emerged as I searched relentlessly for truth.
I hope you find it a stimulating and immensely helpful read.
