BETTY MALTZ' LIFE REVIEW
In the early days of my researching NDEs I wondered why so little notice was taken of them by the population as a whole. I decided people did not want to think about the afterlife and I wondered whether something like a movie might wake folk up to the afterlife, especially were it to be of someone famous. It was some years before this would happen. The first video of the an afterlife experience that I saw was that of Betty Maltz who was young BUT not famous, nonetheless I was struck by its impact, not only on me, but also on others who saw it and spoke about it. Her father was a well-known and respected Christian minister and his support of her having been dead much longer than the usual short time that an NDE took gave her afterlife adventures credibility. I can still remember some of the scenes shown in the video. Who do you think the silent companion could have been who guided and protected her? On reflection, it is important for us to comprehend that even though there were differences between her experiences and that of most other NDErs, she was nevertheless given a searching LIFE REVIEW. Neither you nor I are likely to escape our own Life Review! That makes us uncomfortable, doesn't it? We don't even like our recent experiences put under the microscope, do we?

NDEs and God
Very briefly, Betty, at age 27 years, was tall, elegant, fun-loving and popular. She died after an operation for peritonitis following the earlier removal of her infected appendix. She remained dead on hospital records for 28 minutes. However, a great deal happened to Betty in the afterlife during those 28 minutes, events that would have taken many hours back on Earth!
Of most significance, Betty found herself on a beautiful green hill in Paradise and marvelled at its beauty, colours, and the vibrance of the plant life there. She was surprised that having three postoperative wounds she could stand and walk without any pain.
A robed companion joined her on her walk, whom she could not identify, but who she felt knew her already. She thought, “Maybe this is an angel.” They did not talk to one another.
Then Betty’s Life Review began. She saw all her life pass before her. She saw examples of how egotistical she had been and felt ashamed. However, she was not left in her humiliation, but felt caring love for her enveloping her instead, helping her to feel young, healthy and happy – “I felt I have everything I ever wanted to have. I was everything I ever intended to be. I was arriving at where I had always dreamed of being”.
After some fascinating afterlife adventures, Betty remembered that her much-loved father would be in great distress, and she chose to return to Earth.
Her father, a Christian Pastor, had indeed been stricken by grief during those 28 minutes. He was standing and mourning at her bedside, when she suddenly returned to life and threw the sheet off her face!
Betty concluded that her experiences had brought her closer to God. She had also learnt the primary lesson regarding the pre-eminence of love. She consequently developed a deep love for people during her life, and over the years reaped their love in return.
