Pain is inevitable. But did you know there is a divine purpose for suffering? The Furnace of Affliction will help those who are struggling with the “why” of pain find hope. This book will encourage readers to look to God, who is greater and higher than any affliction. Horace Williams, Jr., a stroke survivor, well-acquainted with pain, The Furnace of Affliction, blends real stories, practical advice, and biblical truth. Together these elements create a salve that intends to change how you view pain and re-evaluate your response to it.

For decades my parents prayed that I would have a heart for God. However, I continued to live rebelliously and tried to ignore God's call on my heart. Looking back, I must admit that FEAR was the main reason for rebelling against God all those years.
I was afraid of what God would require of me. Would He send me away from everything I knew? Would I be called to live in a foreign country away from my family and friends? These are a few thoughts that haunted me for years as I continued to run away from God.
Friend, let me tell you that there is NOTING to FEAR. I've learned that God wants what is best for me, and He wants what is best for you too!
He created us with unique gifts and talents. He desires to use those talents for our good and His glory! It is all about TRUST. God wants us to trust Him with ALL our hearts. He has no desire to harm His children. God wants to bless the ones He loves.
So, I want to encourage you not to live in fear but to listen to God's still, small voice and embrace His calling for your life! No more running. No longer living in fear but glorify God with your life!

The Furnace of Affliction
I did everything I could to avoid the conviction of the Holy Spirit. This included not reading my Bible regularly. I also resisted going to church as often as possible, and in doing so, I missed fellowship with other Christians and the teaching of God’s Word.
