Pain is inevitable. But did you know there is a divine purpose for suffering? The Furnace of Affliction will help those who are struggling with the “why” of pain find hope. This book will encourage readers to look to God, who is greater and higher than any affliction. Horace Williams, Jr., a stroke survivor, well-acquainted with pain, The Furnace of Affliction, blends real stories, practical advice, and biblical truth. Together these elements create a salve that intends to change how you view pain and re-evaluate your response to it.

HOPE. Belief. Faith. Optimism. Anticipation. Promise. Light at the end of the Tunnel. These are just a few words that define what hope is. However, the HOPE that Jesus offers us is like nothing in this world! It is supernatural. His hope offers SECURITY.
The HOPE that Jesus offers includes a PROMISE that He will NEVER leave us or forsake us. Hebrews 13:5. This promise is valid, especially during suffering and in times of pain, fear, anxiety, and worry.
I share these truths with confidence because I have lived it myself.
During the dark days and nights, Jesus has always been here. Comforting, encouraging, and providing me with the strength and the courage to not only survive but to thrive.
His love for us is UNCONDITIONAL. We don't have to be perfect or get our "act together." Jesus loves us just the way we are. And because of His indescribable love, we can have HOPE!
That doesn't mean we won't encounter difficult, painful, and trying times going forward. Jesus warns us in John 16:33 that we will have tribulations, but He encourages us to take heart because He has already overcome the world.
I know it is never easy going through challenging and scary times, but I encourage you to keep your eyes focused on Jesus. He is our HOPE!

The Furnace of Affliction
The beautiful thing about Scripture is that regardless of the stark reality God reveals to us in His Word, He never leaves us without hope. Our suffering will not last forever. God is using our pain to strengthen us for everything He knows we will encounter in the future.
