Pain is inevitable. But did you know there is a divine purpose for suffering? The Furnace of Affliction will help those who are struggling with the “why” of pain find hope. This book will encourage readers to look to God, who is greater and higher than any affliction. Horace Williams, Jr., a stroke survivor, well-acquainted with pain, The Furnace of Affliction, blends real stories, practical advice, and biblical truth. Together these elements create a salve that intends to change how you view pain and re-evaluate your response to it.

How adaptable are you? Are you able to adjust to change on the fly? I'm a "serial planner." I prefer to have things all mapped out when trying to accomplish my goals. Have you ever had your plans diverted or changed due to circumstances?
Yes, it can be frustrating when things do not go as planned. However, one thing is so important to remember that God has a purpose in everything, despite how painful the circumstances are.
When we seek to do His will, He will not only empower us to accomplish His plan. God will give us the courage and the strength to thrive, even during the unexpected. When we attempt to do things independently outside of His will, we are asking for trouble.
God has chosen you to become a part of His family. There are things He wants you to do for your benefit and His glory. He may sometimes use painful or unexpected circumstances to inspire us to change our course.
So are you willing to walk the path that God has uniquely chosen for you, or are you going to rely on yourself? Choose wisely, friend. Choices have consequences.
