Two lost souls, one powerful connection. As a Dom for Club Moon, Nick Santos uses bondage to alleviate his anger at being forcefully changed. And when he meets Gwen Waters, his carefully controlled world is turned upside-down. Through her, he'll learn what true self-control is and that being a vampire has its benefits.
Freshly divorced from an abusive ex-husband, Gwen doesn't want another domineering man. But when she meets Nick, a world she only fantasized about is laid before her. Can she trust a Dom who's also a vampire? And can Nick be the man she deserves?
Gwen's worry about domineering men stems from a lifetime of being under their thumb. First her father then Marcus, they used fear and her demure nature to control her. Then she broke free and refused to go back to that comfortable but oppressive life. Sacrifices had to be made to achieve her freedom, and no one would take it away.

Carnal Moon
After reading the same paragraph three times, Gwen gave up and tossed the book on the nightstand. Triple-X thoughts of Nick crowded her head. As if her libido wanted to make sure she knew it was alive and well. It didn’t help that she read romance novels. Plenty of ideas there.
With a quiet sigh, she leaned back against the headboard, her eyes gazing at Nick’s photo. A surge of apprehension swept through her. He was the first man to get past her defenses since Marcus. And while she admired his work, Nick drew her to him as if they should have always been together. She shook her head. Come back to reality. It doesn’t work that way. Try to know more than his name.
And no matter how enticing Nick may be, she wouldn’t be oppressed again. With Marcus, her world revolved around him. Whatever he said, she did, to the point she didn’t have an identity anymore. She became nothing more than the hot wife.
They started dating when she turned twenty, a freshman in college. Ten years older, he was the senior manager over her father’s carpet stores. He hailed from a respected family and built an advantageous relationship with her father. When they started dating, approving nods came from both sets of parents.
While not classically handsome, Marcus nevertheless attracted the ladies. He preferred his women slender while he deemed his flabby middle acceptable. Double standard, anyone? And his high intelligence caused him to disparage others. Gwen included.
From the beginning, he manipulated her. He disguised his insults as attempts to improve her. He wanted the best for her. What did she know? Her mother acted the same way. And Gwen wanted to please her parents by staying with him, no matter the uncertainty she’d often experienced.
She let out a long, tense breath. Her submissive personality partially stemmed from the need to please others, a behavior learned from an early age. Dad, a workaholic, had been a dominant man. Dad may not have been home a lot, but when he was, his orders best be obeyed. He never hesitated in voicing his impatience, and Gwen dreaded his anger. Even five years after his death, she still feared him.
