Over the ages we have turned against our intuition and grown to mistrust its symbols, devaluing our creativity. It is the experience of soul we hunger for. Dreams, stories, and myths have been relegated to make-believe. They are not honored for their healing and prophetic qualities that have guided human beings through the ages. The mistrust of the imagination is a result of mystical experience being confused with superstition and magical thinking, which is hidden in the shadow of the church.
One of the biggest obstacles of growth is our view of God. The first aspect of that shift has to be the shift from a God of law to a God of grace. People must discover that God is for them and not against them. This is what it means to have a God of Grace and a God of mercy. Jesus had a mission to show people what God was really like. "Immanuel", one of the names given to Jesus, means, "God with us." And when Jesus walked the earth, he showed us a very different God than we might expect. The kingdom of heaven is within each person; everyone, not just the priests and ministers, has access to His divine guidance.
