She placed her arms around his neck and searched his face. “You’re sure you’re feeling better? You’re being honest with me?”
He smiled. “Have you ever known me to lie to you?”
“Of course not. Sometimes, though, I think ... I think you keep things from me. I’ve felt that since ... well, since I got sick two years ago. And with that attack you had last night ...”
He kissed her lips with tenderness.
“It wasn’t an attack, just a headache. No need to worry about me. I’ve been working too hard lately, that’s all. So have you. We need that vacation, and soon!”
