Do you lose once in a while?”
“Yeah, sure. Sometimes.”
Danny stopped walking. “You don’t have to you know.”
Jim halted. “What do you mean?”
“We can work together. I mean, I can’t seem to beat you, so why not join you.”
Jim’s forehead crinkled. “How?”
“We team up. I’ll teach how to signal each other. If you’re holding power cards, I’ll jack up the pot with raises and vice-versa. I’ve done it before. It works. And with your reputation as a star player no one would think we were doing it.”
“You mean you want to cheat?”
“Well, I’m just saying that if we work together, we can make a lot of money. What’s wrong with that?”
“It’s cheating. That’s what’s wrong with it.” Danny rolled his eyes. “C’mon. Stop being such a goodie-two-shoes.”
“Call it what you want. It’s wrong. And I don’t want to do it.”
Danny glowered. “What do you think, that you’re better than me? Stop giving me that holier-than-thou bullshit. It’s starting to piss me off.”
“It’s not holier than thou. I just don’t want to cheat.”
