When Breaks the Maelstrom is a buffet of short stories that tend to blur genre lines. The stories defy convention in that they are fantastical and are interludes into the lives of men, women, and otherworldly beings. Some events cannot be explained, except that we accept the supernatural. When we can break through the natural world's barrier, it is then that we can see other possibilities. We can suggest that myths, phenomena, and legends may be familiar with reality. When Breaks the Maelstrom begins, it is an excursion into some situation that we all may have faced at one time or another. Since all skeletons in closets are not yet devoid of flesh, it is only proper that we remake the frame to envision its beginnings. Some stories involve many different nationalities. Several stories continue characters who loom prominently in their telling, as they are the adventurers so many of us desire to be or become. Please enjoy as you venture into original and undiscovered realms of fantasy.

WHEN BREAKS THE MAELSTROM
A dabbler in the arcane arts, a Gypsy, once described the Bugler as an ordinary man of handsome repute. The dabbler was rebuked for his remarks until he clarified his statement further.
“The Bugler’s general appearance begins as the figure of a man, but then begins to morph. The physical changes the Buglers undergo reflect man’s mental descent into depravity.”
“The greater the impending offense, the more grotesque the Bugler’s countenance. This is why his appearance was visualized to appear ogreish.”
The explanation quieted the unlearned revelers and, at the same time, struck fear into darkening hearts.
The Gypsy was requested to quit the village and never return. Such are men’s fears when truth overcomes.
