“What did I pretend to be? Oh gosh, Tom, I don’t know. It was so long ago,” Julie stammered being put on the spot.
“There must have been something that you remember. A doctor, maybe? A queen? A princess? What did you pretend when you were little?”
Julie tried to think back. It really had been a long time since she thought back to the days when she would pretend. “I don’t know,” she said. “I guess I do remember pretending to be a bride.”
She glanced at Tom but then looked away. She didn’t want him to see anything in her eyes, and yet, she hoped that he noticed.
