There are times in my past when happiness and hope have bathed my outlook on life from the get go of the day. As I've grown older, I've learned to harness that feeling and call upon it all of the time. It's a great feeling that, when utilized often, makes each day a welcome addition to the overall days of life! I tried hard to capture this through the actions of my character, Tom Parker. I want everyone to feel this incredible spark that life can bring you and even though Tom finds it through the Imagination Stone, we all have that ability to look into our own imaginations and find that same sense of exhilaration! I hope that you enjoy this excerpt!
The Imagination Stone
The sun was just rising the next morning and laughter echoed through the wooded area next to the small, one story building with the sign, Parker Ad Agency. During its existence, the building had never seen anyone there this early, let alone on its rooftop. But that was where Tom stood, his back toward the rising sun. He had been there most of the early morning, watching the last of the night stars twinkle and fade. He held the stone tightly in his hand. With its help, he saw astronauts, space creatures of varying sizes, shapes and colors. He saw planets floating past the moon and saw the moon as it would look if really made of green cheese! He and the man in the moon held many, very poignant conversations during the early morning hours, and shooting stars made it a point to stop, on their way across the sky, and tip their hats to Tom before streaking off on their way to grant wishes. Now, he could feel the warmth of the early morning sun on his back and although he thought he would feel more tired, he felt invigorated. He was not only ready to tackle the day, but the daunting task ahead of him to raise $60,000 in the next month. He turned and closed his eyes, the stone in his hand. He could hear it whisper, “It will be okay,” and he knew that it would. The warm rays of the rising sun bathed his body and melted the night’s chill from his face. Time to get to work, he thought to himself, and he climbed down from the roof and entered the building.
