In a way, we are all ambassadors in our lives and of ourselves. We daily present ourselves to the world and the people in it. We show our best face to some, and our true face to others. Sometimes we're beautiful in our actions while other times the things that we do are ugly and not something to be repeated. Others present themselves to us, and we react according to what we see and what we know. We sometimes wonder how others would react to the same presentation. In this short excerpt, Linsora realizes that she is representing her home world of Khizara, and is angered by one small statement. She wonders how the people on her planet would react, as a populace, to such a statement.
The Eyes of Tokorel
Linsora felt a surge of anger and her face became hot. Harda’s attitude struck her as that of a wise parent offering sage advice to a reprobate child. If one simple statement, an offer of help in fact, could arouse her so much, how would the masses of Khizarans react? Not well.
