Observation: If I COULD move back home to Hawaii, I would have long ago. It’s climate is more conducive for Fibromyalgia (FMS). ALASKA’S harsh winter weather isn’t easy to survive in for DISABLED individuals. If all you have for insurance is Medicaid and (or) Medicare basically you have NO INSURANCE. As a result of my experience with both systems in 2020, when I’m asked about insurance in the future, I’ll say I have none as I hand my Medicaid and Medicare cards to Dr.’s offices and pharmacies. No joke.
Last year I was forced to undergo Medicaid appeals for my eyeglasses prescription refill denial. It was overturned and created a legal precedent. This year I’m back in Medicaid appeals. This means I’ve been denied “medically necessary” glasses twice, postponing a prescription refill for nearly one year twice in a row.
Who knows. Maybe readers will be more interested than I realize. MAYBE I’ll sell enough books to pay for annual prescriptions Medicaid and Medicare are too broke to cover. I only needed two prescriptions filled in 2020. One $600.00 eyeglasses prescription on Medicaid. One $1600.00 injection prescription on Medicare. Both were denied this year. Age discrimination was mentioned in both instances as a reason why. While writing my book, sales and earnings isn’t foremost in my thinking, exposing the truth about child abuse is my priority. Right now children ARE being abused by cults in the guise of organized Christianity. There’s the REALITY of living in a cabin in remote Alaska...and then there’s the historic romanticized version...the IDEA of it.
