Tompkins County is overwhelmingly Progressive. Overwhelmingly.

Ithaca’s newspapers brag about it.

Progressives control three-quarters of the legislature and 100% of the planning — leveraged through the highest percentage of college students in the country [blissfully ignorant transients with a four-year memory, going to a six-figure job.]

The County’s elite often claim that Cornell should decide policy because; “It’s the biggest employer,” and that only the claims of Native Americans to the land have any legitimacy. So when Cornell planners tell us we “don’t deserve to live here” and then enact policies to destroy our rural community; there is no one who will represent us, or who even cares.

Tompkins County authorities always have an excuse — and they even have an excuse for always having an excuse. Although, most often, they just refuse to acknowledge us: and in their latest comprehensive plan, “Planning for our Future,” we no longer exist.

Like those who claimed Pluto is not a planet: they’ve redefined the world in a way that makes it very good for them . . . and not so good for us.

We’ll resume our journey into a darkness that is . . . looking for a light that is not.
