The Air Force has not had time to test its new supersonic space fighter, the F-N3. Suddenly Mason and Pat have to take it against the anomaly threatening our world. The orb is as large as our moon and full of enough atomic energy to disintegrate Earth. Will it destroy the F-N3 before the space fighter's crew destroys it? Is the F-N3's weapon system strong enough to win the battle?

World Eternal: Perils
“Target located,” King said in a surprised voice. “It’s not cloaked, and it’s moved much closer to Earth.”
Jim turned to look at King’s instrument panel and saw a red pulsing ball that sent glowing streams toward Earth. It grew larger with every passing second.
“I see it,” Edwards said. “Target within firing range.”
“Ready to fire missile at your command,” King said.
“Fire Missile 1,” Edwards ordered.
“Missile 1 fired.”
Jim watched on King’s weapons indicator as the missile streamed toward the orb. It struck dead center, but the orb seemed to absorb it with no damage.
“Fire Missile 2,” Edwards commanded.
Again, the missile hit the target, but disappeared at the moment of impact. The glowing ball grew larger, never slowing down. Suddenly it sent a mass of fiery rays toward them.
