God understands. He sends us blessings to continually affirm His love for us. Read them and see how many you have because of His love and care for you. Author Biography

Donna Wittlif loves to write about God and His Word and how being a Christian helps people overcome their troubles. The characters in her fiction books deal with problems that real people have overcome with God's aid. Donna strives to inspire and teach through her non-fiction books. She has been a Bible class teacher for children and women many years. She gained her knowledge by taking Bible courses in Christian colleges and through turning to God when she lost two husbands, a child, and survived cancer. Donna lives in Texas, where she and her husband enjoy being with family and friends and working with their congregation.

Peace with God

Our world has been plagued by wars and rumors of war almost from the beginning of time. We long for peace and tranquility in our lives, but every time we turn on the news, we hear about war. God never promised us a world with perfect peace. What God has given us is peace with Him. It is not freedom from earthly strife. It is the blessed gift of being right with God because of the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. He is our refuge and our hope.

What is peace? The first definition one might think of is freedom from war. That is true, but let us look at some biblical truths about peace.

The most important peace we can have is peace with God. Paul begins many of his letters with “Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” See Romans 1:7, 1 Cor. 1:3, 2 Cor. 1:2, Gal.1:3, and Ephesians 1:2. If you look at the beginnings of the rest of Paul’s letters, you will find this exact phrase or something very close to it in them. Peace with God is that important. When a person is estranged from God, he has no hope of eternal life.

Peace is a gift from God. In case we think having peace with God requires that we perform some great deed, we must remember that God made the first move. He is searching for us, that we may find Him and give our hearts and our lives to Him. If He had not sent His Son to die for us, and if Jesus had not obeyed His Father, there would be no way we could obtain this peace.
