Quinn noticed the looks they were getting. “Let’s dance, Davi. I think they’re playing our song,” he said as he took her hand and led her to the dance floor. “Anything I should know?” he asked as they moved away from the unfriendly stares.
“Later, if you don’t mind. I’d rather not talk about it right now.”
“Okay.”
He wouldn’t press her. He knew she’d tell him when she was ready. They had promised each other no more secrets after their last encounter with Guy Tremblant. Quinn moved expertly over the dance floor, weaving around the other dancing couples as he held his wife close. Quinn inhaled the scent from Davi’s hair. He hardened as her perfume filled his senses. No woman ever aroused him so quickly. He remembered he reacted the same way when he danced her into their wedding reception. It was the happiest time of his life. At least it was until Guy…
“Don’t.” Davi’s voice interrupted his thoughts. “I know when you’re thinking about him. Don’t.”
Davi could always tell. Quinn’s body would tense, and she would swear he held his breath too. He couldn’t hide anything from her.
He chuckled. “Damn. My thoughts aren’t private anymore.”
Davi looked up at him with concern. “Not when you’re thinking about him.”
“He just popped in. I was thinking of our wedding reception and our dance into the dining room. It was the first time we’d danced with each other.”
“You were amazing,”
“We were amazing. It’s the two of us. Don’t ever forget that.”
