Unlike her last trip, Emma feels the sand under her feet. “Mickey, I was flying last time, but the important thing is to find the caboose. It wasn’t a train, but a caboose.” Suddenly, she realizes that the caboose might be the wrong car to find, it might take them to the thug that shot her new friend. “Oh my, this isn’t going to work. I don’t want that car, Mickey. But I don’t know how I got to Laura. The caboose I took might take us back to the night you were murdered.”
He points ahead to an engine with only two cars attached. “There, let’s take that. Emma, we have to try. If I only get one more time to be with her, we have to try.”
She lets him lead, and once on the train, she feels a calmness, her fear subsiding. To her, it seems like a longer ride than before, but finally, it slows and comes to a stop. The doors open, and they follow a ramp into a hospital room. Emma recognizes the people and the young girl sitting on the bed. There are tears in their eyes. Mickey leads the way into the room, where he catches the attention of his Laura.
