Jeremy felt more content than he had in years. He sipped his drink while taking in the magnificent view. “You know, ladies. Central Market was interesting, but I think I won’t be going back. I’m afraid my stomach is too weak for the smell of the butchered meat. And, I was rather disturbed when I saw the display of pig heads.” He laughed. “They were presented with such gusto.”
“Jeremy, you should think about changing your mind. There are so many great things to see there.” Gloria loved every inch of her town. “Emma and I have gone there many times just to buy tamales. There are good ones all over town but we really enjoy them from one of the booths inside the market. Maybe because it’s nice to get away together, but I really do think they are the best in town.”
“Well, if they’re as good as this salsa, I need to make that trip.” Paul was devouring the chips. Then he turned to Emma. “Sweetheart, I’m here with you guys because I wanted to talk to you about your experience this afternoon. Do you think we could find some time to talk about it tonight?”
Jeremy was stunned. “Why did you do that, Emma? You know it’s a waste of time, and all the nonsense Paul says leading up to the hypnosis pretty much ensures that you’re going to experience something ugly. You know, whether you believe in what he’s doing or not, it can be depressing to go through his session. Because of his hype, you’re bound to see death during your hypnotic state, it’s very common.” He looked at Paul. “Why don’t you just advertise yourself as someone who’s good at providing nightmares for people?”
