Lohon sat by the fire, a gleam in his eye as he revealed his scheme. His fingers kept busy rubbing his rusty goatee. “We’ll set a trap. Lure the bloody beasts to us, then chase ‘em back to their hole. With the element of surprise, we’ll knife through ‘em like butter.”
The group maintained silence, granting him that courtesy at least. Undaunted, Lohon continued. “On the morrow, I’ll ride into the foothills and hunt a deer. We’ll use the carcass as bait and lure the knuckle-draggers right to us!”
“And when naught show up, we’ll eat venison for dinner!” Sir Prentice laughed at himself.
