The inability to manage intense and complex emotions often results in negative consequences. In the heat of the moment, we might speak harshly, harm others emotionally, and make irrational and detrimental decisions. Although some repercussions of our actions can be mended, others may leave lasting scars. For instance, hurtful words uttered in anger cannot be erased from someone’s memory.
Similarly, relationships damaged or severed by our actions may not be salvageable. Consistent instability, lack of discipline, and high-stress levels can make us blind to the impact of our words and deeds, emphasizing the importance of emotional regulation for our well-being and that of those around us.
