Tracking, sometimes known as coding, is the very useful process of tallying and monitoring student contributions. The data collected can range from a very basic system of counting student contributions, to tallying the types of contributions, such as positive, negative, and neutral. More complex systems of tracking may include: statements, questions, procedural comments, redundancies, new ideas, volunteering to read, or monitoring any other skill that the students are working on.
