As Shannon dished out the cat food, she sniffed the can. It smelled quite alluring. A strong suggestion of fish with a hint of corn-starch and wheat gluten. She might give it a little taste. She dabbed a finger in it, which emerged with a brown wet lump. Reminded her of a chopped, broiled slug.
Of course she would not taste it.
