The CPT enjoys working with the tool and, after a discussion, they conclude that given the prospect of their potential longevity, limited savings, and dependency on dual Social Security income available to cover escalating care costs, self-funding is not a viable option for Grandpa and Grandma.
Grandpa suddenly interjects, reminding everyone he is very much engaged in this planning exercise and has his own financial priorities. “Before we move onto another option, I promised your grandma I would remind everyone that Grandma and I want a plan that doesn’t burden Jodi or Jackson—or any of you for that matter—with bills for our care. Jodi and Jackson love spoiling their grandchildren, our great grandchildren. We are so pleased they started a savings fund for them. Funding our care would interrupt, if not end, that heartfelt gesture.”
