“She ever ask for anything?”
“Not yet. She hasn’t shown any interest in the financial side of me, but I know it’s there. I catch these looks and little hints she drops. No, she never asks for anything. In fact, she bought the groceries last night and bought me this cool Guy Harvey shirt.” Lev flicked his fingers across a shoulder of the fabric. “She says I look good in blue—goes good with my soulful gray eyes.”
“Soulful my ass. Don’t tell me you’re falling for her shit.”
“Do you take me for an idiot?”
“Sounds to me like you’re drinking the Kool-Aid.”
“Yeah, right.” Lev guffawed. “She says I ought to quit my job, she wants me to go to Costa Rica with her. You know, the living is cheap down there. She says we’d live like royalty.”
